I was looking at flat colour, the problem with green. That old idea ” Red and Green Should Never Be Seen”. But nearly all flowers sit in green stems and leaves. And they are all right..perfectly beautiful. I’m trying to get some of that aware of an Alfred Wallace idea that most artists use too much colour (his opinion) . But he could make an immense suggestion of colour from Black, White and Green on Cardboard.

The Cathedral has sat there for 800 years. Salmon Pink in the afternoon sun. It took 300 years to build. It felt epic to paint. I had to draw it separately to stop my confusion.
